Twitter monitor all accounts for aggressive following and repeatedly following or un-following large numbers of other users. Twitter always keep an eye on how aggressively users follow other users.In this post, I would like to explain about aggressive following, aggressive follow churn and account banning by Twitter.

 

Remember,

• Don't use automated methods of following users
• Automated un-following is also not permitted by Twitter.
• The only automated following behavior that Twitter allows is auto-follow-back (following a user after they have followed you). 
• Don’t follow or un-follow hundreds of users in a single day (Avoid aggressive following)
• Avoid repeatedly follows and un-follows large numbers of users. ( Aggressive follow churn )
• Never do Aggressive follow churn as it may lead to account banning or suspension.
• Every user can follow a total of 2000 people. Once you hit this limit, there are other restrictions to the number of additional users you can follow. This limit is different for every user and is based on your ratio of followers to following.
• All accounts, including verified and developer accounts are subjected to Follow limits.

After going through these rules, I felt that using some sites like, Twitter karma, Twiends, Twitterfollowers could bring danger to your Twitter account. Please comment here, If any of you experienced any such serious side effects.

 

 

MY TWITTER ACCOUNT SUSPENDED

Many twitter account already asked this question. My Twitter Account is suspended.So What I do next? Suspending an account by Twitter may be due to many reasons. Twitter Accounts are generally suspended for violations of the Twitter Rules. An account also may get suspension, if Twitter suspect an account has been hacked or compromised.

What I will do If my twitter account is suspended?

1. Log in to your account and confirm that your account is actually under suspension.
2. Login to your email inbox for an email from Twitter.com regarding the suspension. Twitter sends suspension notification email directly to the email address associated with your Twitter account
3. Now Contact Support to appeal suspension. If you are not able to submit a request through this, you may send an email to suspended@twitter.com with all possible details.
4. While going for an appeal process, remove all prohibited following automation from your account, and stop any manual aggressive following behavior.
5. After submitting a support ticket, through “Contact Support” or through the email, you'll be able to check on your ticket status anytime by visiting your Twitter Support home page and clicking "check on your existing requests."

AUTO TWEET USING GOOGLE FEEDBURNER

Google Feedburner helps you to auto post to your Twitter account. All that is to configure your blog’s feed using Feedburner and then in the Feedburner account, configure your Twitter account also. Confusing? Here I am explaining it step by step. Just follow it and relax to see your blog posts right in your twitter account. If you already have a Feedburner account for your blog’s feed, then please select that feed and directly go to step 6.

How to configure auto post to Twitter account by Google Feedburner

1. Go to www.feedburner.com, login with your Google ID and password.

2. Enter your blog's web address( URL) in the "Burn a feed right this instant?" form found on FeedBurner homepage after your login.If you like to publish a podcast with your Blogger feed, check the "I am a podcaster" box. Click Next».                                                       

3. Original feeds of your blog will be identified and provided to select. Usually two original feeds are given. You may select any one of these, and click “Next»”

4. Next page, you can see a welcome, where the “Feed Title”  and “Feed Address”  are given. You may change both according to your ways. Please note down the feed address as hereafter this will be your main Feed address. Click on Next»

Your feed address will look like this

          http://feeds.feedburner.com/YOUR FEEDNAME

5. Now you have successfully configured your Feed. Now click on “skip directly to feed management”. You will reach a page where you can see tabs as given in the picture.

6. Click on “Publicize”

7. Then click on "Socialize" in the left menu, and there you can Add your Twitter account.

After adding you Twitter account, you can configure the auto posting in the options given there. Then Activate. When ever you upload a new post in you blog, it will be automatically posted to your Twitter account.

Twitter, the micro blogging service, started its operation in the year 2006. The growth after Twitter's origin was tremendous and today twitter is being used by many corporates, individuals and bloggers as a medium of short and hectic communication. Do you ever wonder how twitter is making revenue? How twitter is maintaining the operational cost? Recently we had a small discussion and analysis about what is going on behind Twitter.

How Twitter manage maintaining costs till 2010?

Twitter was believed to be successful in raising over US$57 million from venture capitalist growth funding. This money was pumped into Twitter over three installments within the first three years.  Institutional Venture Partners and Benchmark Capital, Union Square Ventures, Spark Capital and Insight Venture Partners were some among the major financing sources.

How Twitter planned to move further?

Twitter was actually created as a long term investment. The idea behind offering everything free with Twitter was to attract users and to establish the new idea of short messaging service as a monopoly of Twitter.

Twitter was successful in creating 190 million accounts, ( not visitors ) within this short period of time. But many programs like “Revtweet”, started making and sharing  money out of Twitter using automated advertisements through active twitter accounts. This created immense automated tweets dumped on most twitter accounts. Regular twitter users went into trouble in identifying useful tweets.

On April 13, 2010, Twitter announced plans to offer paid advertising for companies such as  that would be able to purchase "promoted tweets" to appear in selective search results on the Twitter website, similar to Google ‘Adwords'.  This was a brave step to boost the revenue for Twitter.

What could be the killer of Twitter?

Twitter is beleived to have 190 million accounts as of today. Unfortunately 2.1% are dead accounts, 14% fake accounts, 62% irregular login, 12% regular login and 9.9% are one time login (these accounts never opened after they were created-hoping that these accounts may login at any time). This statistics shocked us, and we decided to go for further analysis.

• 2.1% dead accounts, are due to forgetting the password , account deletion due to violation of terms, and physical death of account holder.
• 14% fake accounts are created by Twitter account marketing people to sell Twitter followers. These accounts have no revenue value for twitter.
• 62% irregular login, is due to the influence of other social media networking sites. At the time of its creation, Twitter was not facing any major competition. Twitter spend two years to make Tweeting as a popular action among internet users. Once, Tweeting became popular, then new services like Google Buzz, Google Wave, emerged and Facebook gave more visible importance to short messages. Several other services changed their pattern similar to Twitter. this high competition prevented many real users to stay away from logging into Twitter.
• 12% regular login accounts can be very smaller account number while considering the invested amount on Twitter.
• 9.9% are one time login accounts, in which they fear to use twitter due to privacy leak or less knowledge of irregularly updating Terms and Conditions.

Twitter remained very slow in loading when compared to some other services.

The policy of Following or Unfollowing creating a lot of confusion in account holders.

There is no way of making money with a Twitter account otherwise I had to join in some other programs that may violate the Twitter policies resulting in an account ban.

Lack of more services inside Twitter. Other services like Buzz, Waves and Facebook are offering Short messaging, email, video sharing, picture sharing and much more in a single platform.

10 ideas that could save the life of Twitter

1. Keep an account active as long as possible. Never put hard rules and suspend an account on the name of Terms and Conditions.
2. Respect privacy of an account holder. Give more privacy options.
3. Shift Twitter to new faster loading servers. Establish servers in different countries and establish  accounts on local twitter domains.
4. Enable Transliteration for more languages that may help Tweeting more funny in local languages.
5. Include more services like Email, Games etc that pushes an account holder to login.
6. The most important service is a revenue sharing option for an account holder. Twitter may develop a PPC or PPP ( pay per video play) as an advertisement option.
7. Enter into an agreement with Google, to display Adsense advertisements in Twitter accounts. Use most possible spaces in a Twitter account. Keep two area to display ads, in which Twitter can display their own advertisement or Twitters Adsense account and in the other allow the account holder to display his/her own Adsense account advertisements. Then share the revenue with the account holder.
8. Remove all restrictions in follow or unfollow. Let an account holder to follow or unfollow as many accounts as he wants. This process is similar to a Game, in which a user love to increase his followers. The more he stay in his account, the more Twitter earns.
9. Another suggestion is to introduce credit system by setting a Clean Behavior Pattern Credits for  users. This will give value to an account, based on the account behaviour in internet. That means this value is derived from number of login, number of followers related to the key word, less spamming , tweeting pattern etc.
10. Allow users to sell or but a Twitter account.  Clean Behavior Pattern Credits will be the benchmark for estimating value of a Twitter account. Twitter may open an electronic exchange similar to stock exchange where people can sell or buy their own accounts. Transacting through Paypal, Twitter may  maintain a pool account for account holders who wish to sell or buy their accounts. Twitter can charge a nominal amount on each transactions.

Caution bench:

If Twitter owners didn’t adopt at least some of the suggestions given above, then you may hear 2nd January 2015 as the funeral date of this service.

Manual Deletion of tweets

You may login to your Twitter and manually delete all unwanted Tweets. Once you Tweet, you'll see a star and a trash can at the end of the tweet update. The star is for marking the update as a favorite, and the trash can is for removing it.

To delete a Tweet, simply:

Automatic Deletion of Tweets can be done by three methods:

1. First of all, you had to login to your Twitter account. Then by using this software, AutoClicker (search in Google to get the free download), you may assign your mouse to make automatic clicking on the “Trash Can” as explained above. This method is not recommended because of multiple failures.

2. If you have access to web server that running ColdFusion, then just paste the below given code into a blank file and change the cfhttp attributes to your twitter username and password. PROMOTED TWEETS FROM TWITTER

Twitter now strongly placing its foot in ad marketing world by the announcement of its Promoted Tweets. Twitter announced its first phase of operations with Promoted Tweets using a platform with a handful of innovative advertising partners that include Best Buy, Bravo, Red Bull, Sony Pictures, Starbucks, and Virgin America. Twitter plan to develop Promoted tweets as a great income source for the company. After the first phase of Promoted tweets, Twitter is expected to  analyze the feed back, and then Promoted Tweets to be shown by Twitter clients and other ecosystem partners and to expand beyond Twitter search.

Further scope of Promoted tweets.

It is true that Twitter can earn handsome money from the sponsors who participate in Promoted Tweets, but the real business behind the Promoted Tweets is expected to be the development of PPC.

Promoted Tweets mostly will take a right turn towards PPC. A program that is quite similar to Adsense or I must say, a program similar to Sponsored tweets or Revtweet but with some changes in ad delivery. This move by twitter was quite expected when they announced a change in their automatic advertisement tweet service policies.

TWITTER UNDER ATTACK

The most unfortunate thing happened on August 6th 2009. Twitter is under attack from Denial-of service ( DoS ). This was detected on August 6th 2009 and Twitter is now defending that attack with all possible measures. I suggest all my Twitter followers and Twitter Friends to stay cool and wait for an announcement from Twitter that they have defeated the attack.

What is Denial of Service or DoS 

A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) or distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) is an attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users. The entire site, or system will not be able to respond to its customers in a proper way.

A DoS attack can be identified by the consumption of computational resources, such as bandwidth, disk space, disruption of configuration information, or status information or physical network components, and obstruction of the communication media between victim and the intended users.

Possible problems with Twitter on DoS

• Delay in tweets, tweet feeds etc
• Difficulty in adding new followers
• Denial of adding new Twitter Tools through Twitter API
• Changes in Follower counts
• Failure of some web requests
• Timeout of API clients

How Twitter defending DoS

In the first hour of attack itself, Twitter managed to defend and now Twitter is on its way back to normal functioning. But at present we are not able to say when these attack will be over. My readers who have difficulties with Twitter Accounts must stay calm and pray that Twitter can come out of this at the earliest.
